Crater's Edge has only been open for a few months, but looking at TripAdvisor, they seem to be doing OK. All reviews are 5 Star!
"Where do I begin? It’s heaven on Earth!! The rooms/tents are so tastefully decorated and comfortable with a lovely fireplace and gorgeous bathtub to soak away all your stress whilst overlooking the magnificent views of Ngorogoro Crater. It’s the epitome of tranquility and being surrounded by nature’s beauty. The food and service was top notch as well. Overall an excellent experience and we will definitely be back again!" Whether you are new to safaris or have experienced many different places, how a place makes you feel is very important and Kambaku is no exception.
"Wow. What an incredible experience.
We were greeted by the lovely Lalla who was so warm and inviting. She was very attentive and helpful throughout our stay. The staff were all friendly and professional.
The accommodations were exceptional with a large bedroom/sitting area/bar/desk and an enormous bathroom. The shower stall alone was about the size of a bathroom in my house!
The most notable part was (as you would hope it would be!) the safaris. We had the dynamic duo bringing us out twice a day: Guy the ranger and Renny the tracker. Renny was so good at his job, finding a tiny owl in a tree at night with just a flashlight. Guy made the experience extra special. He was knowledgeable, engaging, enthusiastic and funny. Even though we had never been on safari, we knew pretty quickly that our experience was special.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!" CLICK HERE to read more

You can see in this photograph that the colouration of Southern Giraffes, one of four species of giraffe throughout Africa, can vary quite widely. Their colours can range from a light tan, medium brown, reddish brown, and dark brown. Even within those categories the shade can vary. Generally it's the males that boast a dark brown colour, and they darken as they age, however it is not a guarantee and you may also see dark females or light coloured males.
