The sun has finally arrived and with it come thoughts of balmy nights under the stars with a G&T in hand, watching as the African sun sets over the acacia trees.
This may in turn lead to some last minute bookings for the coming months – months that traditionally are hard to find availability. Well we are pleased to advise that some of our clients do have some space still and have put out some rather attractive incentives to book. Free nights, discounted rates or value added experiences are on offer in South Africa and Zambia.
For Machaba it is all about the water and getting the message out as to the affordability of Zimbabwe. Check out the incredible value for the new long stay packages just launched.
It has been a dry year in Zimbabwe and Botswana. The good news is that guests are canoeing on the Zambezi at Mana Pools again and the water has arrived at Kiri. Guests should be able to mokoro from next week. At Gomoti we are still doing mokoro, and we are aiming to start boating mid-July.
We are really trying to give Zimbabwe a big focus at the moment. It is such an incredible safari destination at affordable prices and with good availability in the high season!
With that in mind, please click the link below for some new packages that Machaba Safaris have just put together to look at longer stays and small group tours.

Many of you may not have considered southern Kafue before, but reading TripAdvisor, it is obvious that guests are loving the experience -
"I recently spent a few days at this wonderful luxury camp, in such a remote and beautiful part of The Kafue.
Thanks to Andrea, Katy and team for taking such good care and treating me with the most delicious cuisine.
The wild and remote location offers a private concession feel, but with an abundance of wildlife in the region.
A true gem."

Game drives are always full of surprises... Look who popped out of the bush in June? Konkamoya’s resident pangolin... Our guests were over the moon.
Hyenas, our favourite... cat? dog?
Hyenas often get confused between the cat and dog families. However hyenas are in fact neither. The hyenas are part of the Hyaenidae family. There are only four species in the Hyaenidae family, the spotted hyena, brown hyena, striped hyena, and aardwolf. Despite their similarity to the canine family, the hyenas are closer related to cats. However their closest relatives are actually civets and mongooses.
Thanks to Garonga
