Garonga Safari Company - Mesmerizing Makalalili
Garonga’s motto is “Safari for the Soul.” Garonga is the perfect camp for those looking for calm, tranquility and the opportunity to reconnect with your partner and with the natural world. At Garonga couples can enjoy a star bath or sleepout deck. They will dine under the stars in Bernie’s uber cool and laid back bar and boma or enjoy delicious delicacies whilst out on game drive, be it a bush breakfast or sundowners.
Garonga Safari Camp offers honeymooners the romance of sleeping under canvas, feeling at one with nature but with the luxury of a decadent four poster bed and an indoor and outdoor shower enabling you to enjoy the sounds under the African sky. If your guests are really lucky, they will get upgraded to the beautiful Hambledon Suite (subject to availability) which boasts its own plunge pool.
Garonga is located on a 25,000 hectare private reserve owned by only 7 landowners who have dropped the fences between all properties. The reserve overlooks the majestic Drakensberg mountain range in the Limpopo Province. It is bisected by the perennial Makhutswi River, a tributary of the Olifant’s River, and includes approximately 10 km of the Selati River frontage. Here you can expect the Africa of your imagination with few people, dramatic views and indigenous wildlife including the Big Five.
The Ant Collection - The Wonderous Waterberg
Ant’s is all about escapism, taking time out and transporting yourself and your partner to a beautiful bush home. This could be for 3 nights or 3 months. Ant’s Bush Homes lend themselves beautifully to a home from home experience and what better way of “working from home.” Wake to the sounds of the birds before heading down for breakfast, taking in the peace and tranquility of your surroundings. All meals will be catered for you – no more rummaging in the fridge for last nights leftovers! Spend your day working from your new office, set up with high speed wifi, before heading out on a bush activity. This could be a bush walk, game drive or horseriding. Special long stay rates have been put together to enable you to turn the negative experience of this pandemic into a once in a lifetime, never to be forgotten, opportunity.
Ant’s Hill and Ant’s Nest are situated on their own private game reserve which covers 12500 acres of pristine Waterberg bushveld but is still only 2.5 hrs drive from Johannesburg. The reserve is made out of 12 different ecological zones from open grassy plains to thick montane bush to savannah bushveld.
Since the Waterberg lies on an intercontinental divergence zone there is a wider variety of flora and fauna than elsewhere in Africa. The diverse topography of the reserve also enables us to naturally sustain over 300 species of resident and migrant birds as well as 40 species of game including giraffe, white rhino, leopard, brown hyena, sable antelope, Roan antelope and buffalo. Sable antelope are today one of the most conservation dependant specie in South Africa and rarely seen in any National park.
MalaMala - A Captivating Kruger
MalaMala fulfills the dream of the ultimate Big Five safari experience on the most pristine land in the Kruger area. No-one can ever guarantee guests a big five experience, however at MalaMala, knowing that guests have seen the Big Five over 95% of every day in the last 25 years, will certainly fill you with confidence when recommending to clients! There is something quite magical about going out on safari when the sun starts to rise. Huddled under a blanket with your loved one, as the anticipation of what you will see first starts to build.
The intimate, private Sable Camp at MalaMala offers couples a more secluded safari experience in elegant, African themed surroundings. Whether you are sipping a G&T on the deck, wondering at the never ending views that unfold in front of you, or relaxing in the lounge in the evening, by the fire, with a book, you will be content in the knowledge that you are experiencing something truly special.
