What a stressful time it has been for those living and working in parts of southern Africa this month. All three of our clients in the Kruger area have been impacted by the heavy rainfall. The rainfall has been the heaviest recorded in the area. We are pleased to advise now that Kambaku Riversands and Kambaku Safari Lodge are fully operational and seeing some incredible game. MalaMala is also fully operational and you can read a full report later in our newsletter. Garonga was the most impacted and they will remain closed until the 3rd March as February is their month for refurbishments anyway.

MalaMala wanted to share a brief update following the recent heavy rainfall experienced in the area, and to confirm that operations are continuing as normal.
As expected with these conditions, there may be some temporary limitations to certain elements of the safari experience while the bush remains saturated including being able to go off-road during game drives. Our teams are closely monitoring the environment daily, and activities will be adapted where necessary to ensure guest safety, comfort, and the overall quality of the experience remain our top priority.
In addition, due to the recent humidity, a few rooms may experience a temporary damp scent associated with the thatch roofing. Our housekeeping and maintenance teams are managing this closely and taking all necessary steps to ensure guest comfort.
Skukuza Airport remains fully operational, and all transfers and logistics are running as scheduled.
Should there be any changes that could affect guest itineraries, we will communicate these proactively. In the meantime, guests will be well cared for and hosted with the same attention to detail and service standards they expect from us, with safety always at the forefront.
