We arrived into glorious sunshine - not bad for winter in Cape Town! Table Mountain was visible in all her glory and the Cape Town suburbs were looking lush.
It was a very easy and quick journey from the airport to Glen Avon Lodge - a mere 25 minutes and we were turning off of Strawberry Lane in Constantia and buzzing on the intercom to enter the courtyard at the lodge.

At about the same time as William the Conqueror was thinking that Hastings would be a good place to visit, a seed from a baobab tree germinated and so began its long and distinguished career as a tree. That tree still stands. It is a mighty tree and one that is no doubt much photographed by visitors to The Selous Game Reserve in Southern Tanzania.
I don't think I have ever felt as intrigued by a country as I have by Rwanda. The country is incredibly lush and green, every square inch appears to be utilised and the people are hardworking and seemingly happy. But is it all what it seems?
