Serenas Star Rises High in the 2013 World Travel Awards

Serena Hotels Africa is this year’s winner in six categories at the World Travel Awards. The awards ceremony took place on October 16th at the Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi.

The awards were:

Serena Hotels as ‘Africa’s Leading Hotel Brand’
Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge as ‘Africa’s Leading Eco Hotel’
Nairobi Serena Hotel as ‘Kenya’s Leading Business Hotel (A Member of The Leading Hotels of the World)
Kigali Serena Hotel as ‘Rwanda’s Leading Hotel’
Dar es Salaam Serena Hotel as ‘Tanzania’s Leading Hotel’
Kampala Serena Hotel as ‘Uganda’s Leading Hotel’ (A Member of The Leading Hotels of the World)

The Oscars of the Travel Industry
Now in their 20th year of success, the World Travel Awards (WTA) was established to ‘acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry’. Dubbed ‘the Oscars of the Travel Industry’, the much sought-after awards reflect the opinions and preferences of travel professionals across the globe. Issued in 47 categories, which span the breadth of the industry from airlines to hotels, the WTAs are universally perceived as the ultimate global travel accolade.
