Jumbes Journal 3

It’s been a while since we last heard from Jumbe , one of the rangers at Selous Serena Camp and Mivumo River Lodge, but there’s been plenty going on in the Selous in that time. The roads around Mivumo have been improved and it takes half as long to get to Lake Tagalala as it used to, Lake Manze is now only an hour away and you can do the drive to the boat house without losing your fillings!

The game experience has been good recently with some great sightings around the guest tents and restaurant/lobby areas of  Selous Serena Camp, including two leopards that were spotted last week and another leopard was seen yesterday by a couple on honeymoon as it took a drink from the pool.

The camp has also had regular visits from elephants during the daytime and two hippos and two buffalo have been spotted drinking in front of the restaurant at night.
