Ethos Marketing continues to look for new and innovative ways of how to promote our clients products to the UK travel industry. A one-on-one meeting is always useful, but in order to get to a slightly wider audience in limited time we sometimes arrange special events.
Last week we arranged a series of events for Carl Reinders, Head of Sales & Marketing, who was over from Fancourt.
Already renowned for its fairways, fine dining, spa facilities and the fabulous ‘boutique’ Manor House, Fancourt has recently launched Fancourt Kidz, which we believe is something quite unique for South Africa.
The events we arranged included a Press Lunch, a Trade Forum and a fun evening at Urban Golf in Kensington.
The press lunch was held in the Private Dining room at Flemings – a perfect venue for this type of event. Most of the journalist knew of Fancourt, but had no idea of all the new facilities, so this gave Carl the opportunity to update them and also learn more about the types of publications and what they require from a PR perspective.
Urban Golf is an indoor golf facility with the amazing new AboutGolf simulators camera tracking and endorsed by the PGA. These new simulators are so accurate that the World’s number 1 golfer, Luke Donald has one installed in his home!
After a presentation from Carl and plenty of ‘Ernie Els Big Easy’ wine and great food; the consultants from a variety of companies, including Kuoni, Trailfinders, Lotus, Okavango Tours, Golfbreaks, Clive Green Travel and A&K tried to outwit one another on the simulators. Beginners and experienced golfers played against one another and we witnessed some interesting swings. At the end of the evening prizes where given to the team who won the Texas Scramble.
How about letting us know how much you enjoyed the evening?
The following day we met a core group of tour operators and agents at Flemings Hotel in London for a brunch forum. This gave Carl the opportunity to showcase the amazing family offering at Fancourt and to hear from the UK trade as to what they believe works well in different parts of the world for the family market. He also came away with the knowledge of what the whole group felt was the best family focused luxury hotel in the Caribbean and why. I wonder how many other agents would have highlighted the same property?
