Don’t Just take our word for it….

This month it is all about what other people say.  Don’t just take our word for it, but take the words of those that have travelled and stayed at Machaba Camp and Little Machaba.  Machaba Safaris prides themselves on offering a truly authentic African experience.  One that creates memories not only because of the wildlife and the amazing untouched landscapes, but also because of the team of people that make each and every trip special and memorable.  So here are a few comments from guests who have left Botswana with very happy memories.

Machaba Camp:

This is simply to say “Thank you” to everyone at Machaba. This was our family’s first trip to Africa and the journey kicked off at Machaba and we couldn’t be more thankful for that. Our guide Moss, affectionately known by our family as “The Moss Man”, is so good at his craft. We learned, we enjoyed, and he always came through with a unique spotting or experience. We were so lucky to have him as our guide. We miss him already. And the rest of the staff are equally phenomenal. From the front of the house (yeah we see you Peter- toothpick challenge) to the back of the house (facilities and housekeeping) you all could work at any 5-Star hotel around the world. I can only hope that our paths will cross again. Until then be well and keep doing what you’re doing.

Without doubt, the highlight of Botswana.  Shaun’s enthusiasm and pure passion for nature is infectious!
From the minute he picked us up at the airstrip to our drop-off, he was ‘on it’….even in the pitch dark, he could spot little creatures hidden in the tree! Amazing!
Food was fantastic, staff friendly and helpful. Most excellent adventure.
The time went way too fast.

Little Machaba:

My wife, granddaughter and I were excited to get to the delta and Little Machaba was all we hoped it would be. The tents were large and well-appointed for being out in the bush, the community tent was serene and an enjoyable place to talk/eat with other guests and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Chief was an excellent host. His kind demeanor and sense of humor made us all feel comfortable. His attendance at our dinners was a wonderful addition, sharing stories and points of view germane to the conversations while seamlessly fitting in to the group. His stewardship of the camp was much appreciated. BT, our guide/tracker extraordinaire made our game drives both exciting and informational, finding leopards, lions and all the fauna we hoped to see. We had an exciting mokoro ride, having to steer clear of a hippo and watching about fifty elephants forge the river with calves in tow…literally…hanging on to their mom’s tails. The food was exceptional, with the outdoor fireside dinner being the piece de resistance. All of the staff made our stay at Little Machaba full of memories we’ll hold close for years to come.

I’ve had the pleasure of staying at Machaba (5 years ago) with a large group and recently at Little Machaba with a few friends. The location, set up, and staff at Little Machaba is intimate and second to none. The very genuine and caring staff made us feel like we were family staying in their home. The hostess and staff provided top service by fulfilling each request and creating surprise experiences from a morning mokoro to brunch in the bush. Having a passionate and amazing tracker and guide behind the wheel made every game drive exciting and special – BD made our trip!
