KAMBAKU IS DOING THEIR BIT

Kambaku Lodges are located in the heart of the Timbavati, part of the Greater Kruger National Park

In 1993 the fences came down between the Timbavati and the Kruger, which allowed the animals to roam free.  The Timbavati enjoys a very low density of vehicles, providing an exclusive game drive experience.

When Bryce and Nicola took over Kambaku, one of the first measures in renovating the lodge was upgrading the camp staff accommodation and at the same time great care was taken to ensure that Kambaku would be sustainable and ecologically friendly.  Today Kambaku relies almost solely on solar power.  This is made possible by utilising an eco-friendly battery bank system.

Kambaku uses a minimal amount of plastic and other harmful chemical substances – this includes the pool, where eco-friendly products are used to ensure that the water is safe for the elephants to drink.

The majority of the staff are locally sourced and training is the foundation of the Kambaku team philosophy.  From technical training through to literacy programmes, Kamkaku is committed to extensive skills enhancement and development to ensure that each individual staff member can unfold to his or her full potential.

Kambaku take pride in encouraging their guests to be more sustainable too.  READ HERE
