Fam-tastic Machaba

By Claire Roadley

A group of 11 operators recently visited Zimbabwe’s famous Hwange National Park as well as Botswana’s iconic Okavango Delta – hosted by Machaba Safari’s UK office, Ethos Marketing.

The group of African specialists enjoyed a delicious brunch in the bush whilst a pride of lions dined out on their own “jumbo” meal nearby at new Deteema’s Springs Camp.

They cheered on a new-born elephant calf and his brave mum who both put up an epic struggle and managed to survive despite a lurking pack of hyenas and heat exhaustion at Verney’s Camp. The Verney’s waterhole was so busy with elephants that they needed ear plugs just to sleep – AMAZING!

On arrival in the Okavango Delta, they joined a pack of painted wild dogs on a hunt right in-front of the swimming pool at Machaba Camp, watched lions mating and a leopard hide his dinner up a tree.

The trip ended with a mokoro canoe safari at Gomoti Plains Camp.
