After months of planning and preparation, the re-imagination of MalaMala Main Camp and Sable Camp has begun and to whet your appetite, we can share some detailed “renderings” of the re-imagined suites. All changes are being hidden discreetly behind the scenes and screens.

MalaMala, one of South Africa’s most iconic “Big 5” Private Game Reserves is currently undergoing an incredible “re-imagination” of both MalaMala Main Camp and adjoining Sable Camp. Sable already has a brand new central facility area and 5 new suites which were completed just before Christmas. Check out our update and a fantastic video of some of the changes so far.

The re-imagination of the old MalaMala Main Camp is now 90% complete and, if the first images are anything to go by, the transformation has been a resounding success! Professional images will follow soon, but for now we are delighted to share a sneaky peek with you of the (now renamed) MalaMala Camp.

MalaMala prides itself on being one of the few safari destinations in the Kruger/Sabi Sands area that offers a wheelchair friendly suite at its MalaMala Camp and a suitably equipped Land Rover with ramp access.

Ranger Dan Bailey's “Backlit Lioness Silhouette” photograph of the Kambula pride at MalaMala has been chosen for the ‘Remembering Lions’ book in aid of lion conservation. The charity book will be launched in London on 17 October 2019 at the Royal Geographic Society and the photos will also be exhibited free at La Galleria on Pall Mall, from 14 - 26 October. Congratulations to MalaMala for winning a Family Traveller Excellence Award for its “Sustainable Intentions” in recognition of their fabulous Junior Rangers programme, which sees families learning survival and conservation skills, as well as fun activities such as cooking brekkie in the bush.
