Leading UK Wildlife presenter Michaela Strachan has explored some of the world’s most beautiful landscapes. She is the perfect person to introduce us to her favourite place on earth, and the country she has chosen to make her home; South Africa.
In a series of 5 films, Michaela introduces us to South Africa’s stunning landscapes, majestic wildlife, exhilarating cities, coastal paradise and of course its glorious food and wine. It’s a country that offers something for everyone; whether enjoying a road trip along the beautiful wild coast, discovering wildlife on safari, enjoying the history, culture and welcoming traditions of local communities, savouring the flavours of the winelands and unique South African cuisine, or enjoying the buzz of its exhilarating cities.
The series is scheduled to go out in Feb 2022, at scale to UK Travellers across digital TV, online and across mobile channels reaching more than 5million people.
For one of the films, Michaela spent time at Ghost Mountain Inn in KwaZulu-Natal soaking up the traditional culture, rich heritage and stunning landscapes. She spent time exploring a local homestead, took part in stick fighting, viewed authentic Zulu dancing and enjoyed sundowners at Ghost Mountain Inn’s beautiful dam. The following morning Michaela joined a specialist birding guide for a bird walk through Manyoni Private Game Reserve, home to over 450 recorded bird species. This area of South Africa is considered to be one of the best if not the best region for bird watching.
