UGANDA:

The acquisition of a new property, the Lake Victoria Serena Resort, which will complement The Kampala Serena Hotel, Serena’s existing 5 star city hotel in Uganda.  Previously known as the Ranch on the Lake Country Club, this property was “reborn” under Serena management on 1st October 2009.  Located just 30km from Entebbe International Airport and 15Km from Kampala city it is idyllically set on the shores of Africa’s largest fresh water Lake and source of the River Nile, Lake Victoria.  It boasts 124 rooms, a wide choice of restaurants and bars, state-of the art facilities and a fully-fledged spa.  An 18-hole golf course and a marina attached to the Resort are currently under construction and will be open by end of year 2010. 




TANZANIA:


Two new luxury boutique properties in the Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania namely, Mivumo River Lodge and the Selous Wildlife Lodge – both high-quality, low impact properties in key locations within the reserve.  Few people realise that the Selous makes up an amazing 5% of the entire landmass of Tanzania (four times the size of the Serengeti!) and is the second biggest conservation area in Africa, the largest game reserve on the continent, and a proclaimed world heritage site!  These properties fit well with Mbuze Mawe, Kirawira and Zanzibar Serena Inn for a perfect circuit!

KENYA:


We are delighted to confirm that the third and final phase of the refurbishment of Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge will be carried out from 01 October to 20 December 2009, which will see all guest rooms upgraded to the same high standards.  During this time management will ensure there is no disruption of normal services at the lodge.
