We are delighted to announce that The Cathedral Peak Hotel’s R20-million four-year upgrade has just seen the hotel granted its official 4-star status by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa.  This rating defines the hotel as having “Superior (excellent) quality in the overall standard of the furnishings, service and guest care”. A wonderful achievement  – and yet another reason to celebrate at the hotel’s 70th anniversary at the end of the year!

Over the last four years the hotel has made some major changes including building a brand new kitchen and dining room, plus renovating the popular Harry’s Action Bar, Albert’s Cocktail Bar, the hotel lounge and the children’s dining room.

On the accommodation side of things, they completely rebuilt and redesigned the 200s wing and are now on the final stages of refurbishing and upgrading their open-plan family thatched rooms and executive/honeymoon rooms.

Two new wheelchair-friendly rooms are also now available, custom-furnished with a roll-in shower with fold-down seat, wide turning areas for wheelchairs, and all the necessary grab-rails and fittings.

The hotel’s much-anticipated on-line bookings system is also now available on their website under “contact us” which enables guests to check availability, select the rate/offer and confirm it immediately by credit card payment.

Cathedral Peak have a Summer Special running from 4th October till 10th December 2009 whereby guests staying 3 nights midweek will receive a 20% discount plus a free gift.  If they stay 4 nights the 4th night they get 40% discount off that extra night.  They also have a “pay 3 /stay 4” Honeymoon special which applies to their honeymoon/executive and presidential suites, excluding weekends and peak periods.  Honeymooners also get a complimentary bottle of bubbly and fruit basket.    There are also Midweek specials including a “stay 5 / pay 4” and “stay 7 / pay 5”.
