Situation:  In the majestic Drakensberg mountains, KwaZulu Natal (World Heritage site)

Johannesburg:  approximately 400km (4 hours) via Oliviershoek Pass

Durban:  approximately 250km (2.5 hours)

Ladysmith:  approximately 90km (1 hour) – hotel transfers available on request

Pietermaritzburg:  approximately 180km (2 hours) SA Airlink operate scheduled flights from Oribi Airport.

Rooms: Every room offers an en-suite bathroom, television (including MNet, MM & 2 sports channels), telephone, heater and tea/coffee making facilities.  Presidential Suite and Executive/Honeymoon suites are equipped with a bar fridge, spa bath, fire place and underfloor heating.

The Presidential Suite, Executive Honeymoon suites, 16 deluxe rooms and standard thatched rooms are thatched rooms.

A “turn down” facility is given in the deluxe, honeymoon & Presidential suites.

Activities:  The many walks are the main attraction.  Guests can begin their guided walks from the hotel grounds - no driving necessary.  These walks include bushman painting sites as well as specialised bird spotting walks.  A 9 hole golf course (with alternative tees for a 18 hole game) is available to guests. Horse and pony riding as well as trout fishing are available on the property.  Stunning mountain bike trails of varying difficulty (own bikes required), quad bike rides, squash, tennis, mini adventure golf (floodlit), volley-ball, bowls, badminton, trampoline, heated & cold swimming pools, and paddling pool for children are available outdoors and squash, pool, darts and table tennis are available indoors.  The Health Centre offers a fully equipped gym, steam bath and Peak Performance Vitality Centre with a resident therapist offering a wide range of treatments.  The resident helicopter is available for sight seeing tours and transfers.

Dining facilities:  Superb buffet style cuisine is served in the dining room.  An English breakfast is served with hot and cold buffet and full buffet dinners offer starter, main, dessert, cheese board, tea & coffee.  Terrace lunches are served outdoors or indoors.  A children’s dining room is available.  Riverside Champagne Breakfasts and theme evenings available on request.

The unique and modern conference centre caters for up to 200 pax in the wide range of executive meeting facilities in the main hotel building all decorated in a bushman art theme.
